Back the Blue Tribute
The Beautifully Designed community is made up of over 16,000 women from all over the world. After a visit to Dallas and watching the funeral processions of the fallen police offers I came back on July 18th, 2016 and challenged these amazing women. I knew it was time to be Gods light and I knew these women could make a difference. We picked August 1st to be the official "Back the Blue" day. The women pinned their city on the map where they would go and serve their local police that day. We wanted to show our support to our local heroes in practical ways by bringing water, snacks, hand made cards, and extra hugs. It was a day to rally our communities and show God's love.
We had over 600 hundred cities in ALL 50 states within 48 hours represented. My heart was overwhelmed but not surprised by the response. My friends and I personally gathered close to $10,000 in food, gift cards, and supplies in our small town of Maryville and on August 1st we had the honor to walk in and personally THANK the men and women who keep us safe day in and day out. The outpouring of pictures, videos, and posts on social media made me weep. Thousands of women gathered their families on this day and God's LOVE flowed from their servant hearts. Up until recently I had only heard and watched the tragedies that were occurring to the police on tv but on August 25th that changed when one of our very own here in Maryville was shot and killed. It shook this town to the core and our community rallied together in support of the family and all of our heroes.
As you watch the video tribute of "Back the Blue" day in memory of 5th Judicial Drug Task Force Agent and Maryville City Police Kenny Ray Moats I ask that you continue to PRAY and SUPPORT your men and women in blue. There are so many things we cannot control but each day we have the opportunity to be GODS LIGHT. Thank you Beautifully Designed women for rising up and serving your local heroes. If you participated in any way or you are excited about serving next year on August 1st, 2017 please share this article and tribute.
