Get in the Fight!

A few nights ago there was an awful storm. It was midnight and I was the only one up. I heard the wind howling and a very strange noise came from the garage. In one instant all my senses were heightened and knowing my alarm wasn't set, my mind immediately went to the place our gun was hidden. Adrenaline started going through my veins as I kept hearing the noise. I was preparing my mind and heart to FIGHT because I had 2 beautiful boys sleeping in their beds and I would do anything to PROTECT them.

Get in the Fight

I slowly went to the door expecting everything to be fine but prepared for worst case scenario. As the door creaked I realized our garage door was shut and everything was safe. Our trash can was hitting it making a loud noise, relief calmed me. I slowly snuggled in the bed and laid there with my eyes wide open going over what "could of" happened if worst case scenario occurred.The next day was rough, Ryan and I were fighting, the boys were throwing fits and I wanted to scream. My heart felt uneasy but had no idea why. That night as I was going to bed GOD whispered, GET IN THE FIGHT. I knew right then our family was in a Spiritual battle. The only difference between what I experienced with preparing for a robber and fighting through the day with my family was PREPARATION. I immediately went in MOMMA BEAR mode to protect my boys from a man trying to enter my house but did nothing to protect my heart from an enemy that is constantly trying to steal, kill and destroy.On Monday March 21st we are going to battle. We will be reading Fervent: A Woman's Battle Plan to Serious, Specific, and Strategic Prayer by Priscilla Shirer and writing out our PRAYER battle plan. There are so many things we have strategies for, I even prep my meals but when it comes to protecting my heart and the inside of my four walls I do nothing.
