Flourishing Faith Week 15 - Living Beyond the Frenzy
One of the definitions of frenzy is a temporary madness.Have you felt any "temporary" madness the last year or so. I think we could all say YES. The other night at church we had a wonderful discussion on how to live beyond the frenzy. What does it look like to not be overwhelmed by the million daily tasks on top of taking care of everyone and everything. One good thing that came out of our group was that we all were experiencing it. We didn't feel alone in the struggle of feeling a little crazy but craving the groundedness of being purposeful.
After about 30 minutes of deep discussion, we all agreed that in every season there is a taste of frenzy. And we have to learn to stay focused on God through it, rather than wish it away or live in the waiting. The ultimate goal is to find where God is working and how we can fulfil our purpose within the daily tasks and caregiving. That definitely takes a mental focus on Jesus to a whole new level. We have to learn to see beyond the messy house, fighting children, and the feeling of rejection. We have to learn to see beyond the tragedy and current circumstance. We have to CHOOSE to seek God out in the quiet and chaos of our days.
This is a process and it's a process I am choosing to embrace. Will you join me?
Prayer of the week:
Lord, I ask that you help me live beyond the frenzy. Help me see YOU working in every aspect of my life. Help me fix my attention to what you are doing and not what I see or how I feel. I need you to do this, Lord!!! I trust you.Help me hide your Word in my heart and be light out in the dark world. In Jesus name,Scripture of the week:"He is not afraid of bad news; his heart is firm, trusting in the Lord." Psalm 112:7
Tool of the week:This week I want you to find God in EVERY circumstance, task, and conversation. Don't just trust what your eye sees, your ear hears, and how you feel. Scripture says even our heart will deceive us. I want you to ask God to show how He is working and moving in every single part of your day. This is a discipline and a process that will happen over time. Let's journey together!!
Let's learn to live beyond the frenzy and choose to see God move.
