Flourishing Faith Week 16: Come What May
Life has been so busy over here at the Shepherd house. We are finishing 2 baseball seasons, my youngest is graduating Elementary school, and my oldest is almost 13 (enough said). My husband, Ryan, and I are getting food to take to school, running to baseball games, working, laundry (well my boys may have run out of underwear this week), and trying to check off everything in our calendars. I am sure you are living a similar life with a different busy. We also have some "unanswered" prayers that have been looming in our minds and hearts as we pursue our daily tasks.
These requests seem to be taking up lots of space in our minds. We have played the "what if and the what if not game" and we have tried to wonder what God is going to do. It's such a mind game between wanting to control it VS waiting for God to move. I hate waiting (that is just pure honesty). As a self-proclaimed fixer, waiting is just wasting time. Can I get an Amen?Today, I was reading a friend's blog and I came across 5 words that slapped me in the face. Are you ready?
WORSHIP GOD, COME WHAT MAY
I immediately got chills and tears quickly filled my eyes. God gently whispered to my heart that those words were for me. I took a minute and talked back to Him and released the "unanswered" prayers and the willingness to play around with the outcome. I took a deep breath and hopped on my computer to share with you. I feel like someone out there may have needed this same encouragement. There is something that happens when you release the outcome to God. Instead of worrying about potential disappointment or success in your life, WORSHIP GOD, COME WHAT MAY! This doesn't come easy but it sure does give a FREEDOM to my soul knowing that God knows what is best in EVERY area of my life, not just the ones I don't control. Do you want to join me in worshiping God today for whatever happens knowing God is FOR US?
Feel free to join me by emailing me at beautifullydesigned139@gmail.com just by saying those simple 5 words- WORSHIP GOD, COME WHAT MAY. I would love the opportunity to pray for you. We can do this together.
Prayer of the Week:
Lord, I worship you, come what may. I release all the outcomes and what if's that have consumed my heart and my mind. Help me to trust in you in a deeper way. I need you, Lord! Help me hide your Word in my heart and be light out in the dark world. In Jesus name,
Scripture of the Week:
"Cast your cares on the Lord and he will sustain you; he will never let the righteous be shaken." Psalm 55:22
Tool of the Week:
It's simple, email me and comment "WORSHIP GOD, COME WHAT MAY." Make a commitment with me to release the outcome of things going on in your life to God and choose to lock arms with Him through His Word. Think back to all the times God has encouraged and blessed your life when you didn't think it was possible. GOD IS FOR YOU!
