Flourishing Faith Week 3
What do you believe about God? That is a weird question huh? I think so many times we go through our days, weeks, and months and have a desire to grow our Faith but end up feeling weary or frustrated. Your belief system matters way more than you could ever imagine. Here is a way to test what you believe.
- *Do you believe God created Heaven and Earth?
- *Do you believe God sent his son Jesus to die for your sins?*Do you believe Jesus is alive today advocating for you as a daughter of the King?
If you said YES to those things you have a certain amount of trust in Him, right? So answer the next few questions below.
- *Do you believe God is in control?
- *Do you accept God's free gift of GRACE when you sin or mess up?
- *Do you worry or trust God when things look different than you expected?
Sometimes we have to take a test and answer those questions to determine what we TRULY believe about God.
If I believe that Jesus died for my sins but end up shaming myself when I mess up, do my actions match my belief? If I believe God is in control but end up worrying about the outcome, do I truly trust in God and His plan for my life?
I want you to take some time and write down in your journal what you believe about God. When you read the Old Testament you find that many people wanted a Savior and wanted to be rescued but when Jesus stepped on the scene, they didn't believe He was who He said He was. Do you?Do your actions match your true belief?
This is a great thing to do with your spouse, children, mom/dad, sister, or friend. It's a great conversation to have with a mentor or someone you are growing Spiritually with. It's important to stand on your belief and allow your trust to follow.
Prayer of the week:
Lord, I come to you today wanting to grow my Faith and belief in you. Help me discover where my faith is weak and I pray you help strengthen me with your love and peace. Help me understand where your Word should replace my worry, and your love replace my fears. Help me grow closer to you and flourish my faith this week. Help me hide your Word in my heart and be light out in this dark world. In Jesus name, _______________.
Scripture of the week:
"And without faith, it's impossible to please him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him." Hebrews 11:6
Tool of the week:
This week's tool is all about journaling your belief in God. Write every single thing you believe about God. Talk with him intimately as you discover where worry may have replaced your Faith. We also have another screen saver for you to use with this week's scripture on it. We want to remind you how important it's to spend time with God daily and continue to write to Him. You are so LOVED by the ONE who Beautifully Designed you!
