How do you fight Fear?

I will never forget the first time I had an anxiety attack, I was young. My mom took me to the doctor and he told me to eliminate caffeine because that was what was making my heart race. He had no idea that as I would go to bed at night I would walk around and make sure things were unplugged because one of my biggest IMG_4463fears was that a fire would engulf our house as we slept. I worried about many things that should not cross a child's mind.I remember finally telling my mom about what I feared would happen at night and it was like the moment I told her things started to shift. Instead of my mind racing in many different directions I would listen to her calming words and prayers and my anxiety would ease.Fear hates community! Our minds are powerful and it's easy for it to go in directions we never thought possible. When my friend Jamie and I posted about our "online Bible study" we had no idea the response we would get. After adding over 9,000 women I knew that God was creating a community for women to RISE UP. A bridge for women that wanted to learn about Jesus, grow in their walk with Jesus, or just have an encouraging place to land.We are reading "What Women Fear: Walking in Faith that Transforms" by Angie Smith and with our group of over 13,000 strong we know that this community will help break the chains of fear and anxiety. There is still time to join us. We are reading 2 chapters per week, we have recorded weekly videos, discussion threads, and a prayer forum. We are women who are fighting to live out the beautifully designed life created for us by our amazing GOD! Lets start punching fear in the face.
