You Have Been Labeled

Do you ever read the labels on items you purchase? When I first began trying to live a healthier lifestyle, I was instructed to read the labels. Labels tell what’s inside, and if you read them carefully you can look for hidden unhealthy additives that diminish the quality and value of a product. The problem with labels is that sometimes they are not accurate. Sometimes labels are changed and what’s on the outside does not accurately reflect what’s on the inside.

When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the LORD shall lift up a standard against him. Isaiah 59:19

I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. Psalm 139:14This past weekend I went to Ulta to spend a gift card I received for my birthday. Although I love to experiment with makeup, I’m not usually one to spend a lot of money on the good products. But since I wasn’t spending actual cash, I figured I would splurge. I found numerous items, placed them in my bag and checked out. When I got home to play with some of my newly purchased goodies, I was surprised to find the blush was not what I bought. The box was correct; it was labeled: Score. However, the product inside read: Tester (color –Fetish). Someone had switched the boxes. They had stolen the real blush and replaced it with a tester hoping no one would notice. Not only was the product not what I had bought, but it’s value was far less than what I had paid. There is a thief who comes to steal more than just physical items. The enemy of our soul comes to steal our identity, kill our joy and destroy every relationship we have, including the one with our Lord. Through hurts, insecurities and doubts he tries to label us: ugly, unholy, forgotten, unworthy and outcasts. He tries to convince us we aren’t worthy to be loved or used by God. But friend, I have another message today. It’s a message of hope and restoration. When the enemy comes in like a flood to drown us in defeat, God fights on our behalf, giving us victory! He is our protector and lover of our soul. He wants to redeem every wrong in our lives. Sometimes we don’t feel worthy of this type of unconditional love. But know this:Our outsides (actions, behaviors, looks, abilities) do not reflect our value.

Nothing can separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ. (Romans 8:39)

Friend, Jesus knew exactly what He was getting when He purchased you. He bought you with His own priceless blood. So put all the negative labels aside, they do not accurately reflect what’s on the inside of you.

you have been labeled 1

You have been labeled: Daughter of the King, Fearfully & Wonderfully Made, the Righteousness of God in Christ. Let those words fill your hearts and minds. That is who you really are.Father, thank you that your love for us is unconditional. There is nothing that can separate us from Your love. Lord help us to see ourselves the way you see us- worthy, righteous, holy, set apart and created for a purpose. Father, we ask today that You would silence the voice of the enemy in our ears. Let Your voice be the predominate voice that we hear. Remind us of who we are in You. Teach us more about You, so we can better understand who we are. In Jesus’ name, Amen!
